Squib was a weekly periodical published in St. Louis by Norbert J. Vogel. This pro-German-American publication includes advertisements for St. Louis-area businessmen and businesses and brief notes about St. Louis-area citizens, often humorous (i.e., "That Bruno Elder never eats when he drinks, but while eating wishes he were drinking.") The issue dated circa 1911 is missing the title page, is damaged, and is missing small portions of several pages. This issue includes brief biographical/historical sketches of businesses and businessmen mostly located in St. Louis County (some of which are accompanied by a portrait photograph) and photographs of St. Louis-area resorts and businesses. The issued dated November 1, 1924, includes brief notes regarding men running for political offices and advertisements for several Republican candidates, many of which are accompanied by a portrait photograph.
